Jerry Milton Flippen

 

 

 

Jerry Milton Flippen was born January 14, 1939 in Azle, Texas and passed aw March 12, 2021 at age 82.

 

His lifetime career was with Bell Helicopter from 1965 to 2001.

 

He began on the assembly line and in 1969, was promoted to Tech Rep and sent to Vietnam to support Bell’s Cobra helicopter for the Marines.  During his career, he served in other positions, including traveling and attending air shows around the world for Bell.

 

Jerry retired as ILS Manager on the U.S. Army Kiowa Warrior program.

 

He was a veteran of the United States Airforce and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Azle, Texas.

 

After retirement he pursued his love of classic cars and motorcycles, winning trophies with his 1955 Ford Crown Victoria.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Susan; son, Larry; his sister, Sharon.

 

Survivors: Son, Jerry Scott Flippen; Sister, Doris Wilk and husband, Roger; beloved dog, Sadie; Nephew, Craig Smith; Nieces, Diane Dominica, Cathy Haley, Terri Klein, Bethany Reid and Becky Jarman.

 

Visitation: 4:00 to 8:00 pm, Monday, March 22, 2021 at Biggers Funeral Home.

Service:  1:00 pm, First United Methodist Church, 200 Church Street, Azle Texas  76120 817-444-3323
